Program Overview

Aya Inc. undergraduate students are assigned young professionals who serve as their mentors during the fall season. They have the option of participating in Aya prep/orientation workshops throughout the semester. During the spring semester, undergraduate Aya Inc. students participate in 6 core workshops that include:

  • Creating a Career: Resume, cover letter and interview preparation
  • Building Networks, Building Power: How to build and sustain professional networks
  • Leading Across Lines: Understanding and leveraging leadership styles
  • A Seat at the Table: How to build confidence and navigate non-minority spaces
  • Caring for the Queen in Me: How to come back after failure and best self care practices
  • Building the Ultimate Empire: Understanding entrepreneurship and ones identifying passion and purpose

Undergraduate Aya Inc. students who return the following fall participate in the program as mentors to high school students in addition to enrichment workshops that include:

  • Mentoring 101
  • Negotiating Your Salary
  • Managing Up
  • Interview Prep 102

All sessions are comprised of moderated sessions with various speakers who are women of color.
